As All of you know by now .... I was slated to do a post game concert at the Prime Ministers XI ---
Cricket match against the Sri-Lankan national side.
Cool enough at that but it gets better !!!
(as most of you know I was a fair Cricketer as a lad and left uni and a sports scholarship to pursue the recording world)
I actually got a couple of innings of informal practice in with the team! ( an unnamed co-conspirator of mine is a relative of Captain Brad Haddin and he sort of threw the invite out and Brad and ran with it)
To cut matters short ( I gotta get back to the pitch pronto) I had the time of my life playing with the lads!!
( wish I had time to blog it they are all such top notch blokes !!)
Anyway later I get a call from Prime Minister Gillard telling me Nathan Coulter-Nile and our twelfth man Ben Ayre were both injured and that Brad suggested that Julia give me a go !!!!
Well what do you say when The Prime Minister asks you to follow your dream ?!?
" Julia -- I Can Do That !"
